Our Mission

To increase awareness of – and raise much needed money for – organizations that educate to prevent the spread of HIV or that provide assistance to the men, women, and children in our community living with HIV & AIDS.

What We Do

Rites of Spring is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on bringing Birmingham’s gay community together with other communities at social functions throughout the year. For the past 19 years, we have hosted events all over Birmingham, working to raise both awareness and funds to accomplish our mission.

The annual Rites of Spring Main Event Party at the Historic Sloss Furnaces in Downtown Birmingham is a Spring ritual for those looking for a good time with a good purpose. In past years, the space beneath the Old Iron Pouring Shed has provided the perfect open-air venue for socializing while enjoying the dance music of nationally known DJs.
